Principal’s Message

Kia ora

Welcome back to Term 4. We have a very busy term, on top of all the usual end of year celebrations our senior students are off to camp at El Rancho.

We also sadly will be saying farewell and “bon voyage” to two of our teachers who are heading off on international adventures. Whaea Alex is off for a big OE to Europe and Miss Mason is heading to Queensland. We wish them both the very best and will miss them.

There is now some genuine progress on our renovations for the “Te Awarua o Parirua” block and we have a tentaive handover date early in Term 1 next year.

Nga mihi

 School Van

We are very fortunate to now have the use of a school van. The main reason for getting the van was to create more opportunities for our students to attend events and it has already proven very valuable in this regard. We have found we are also able to support some students and their whanau in improved school attendance by picking up and or dropping children off.

The responsibility for arranging travel to and from school rests with whanau and while we are able to help on occasion our van is not a school bus and is not a guaranteed ride to school every day. There are only 9 seats and we are now finding we need to prioritize these for students with identified needs.

We now ask that parents make a written request to our Board to detail the days and or circumstances in which they may want the support of the school van. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
