Principal’s Message

Kia ora

At the end of this term we will be celebrating 10 years of our Garden to Table programme. This will be an opportunity to acknowledge not only the awesome programme that it is now but also all those who have contributed since it’s introduction.

Last week we held our school wide spelling bee, after preliminary rounds in class finalists were found who then bravely stepped up to compete in front of the whole school. Great display of courage as well as spelling!

Support Services

We are very fortunate to have the support of a number of services here at school, our public health nurse, Phyl is one of these.

Attendance

We aim for every child to have attendance of 90% or more, last term we even had 20 students on 100%. It gets harder in winter term with more coughs and colds around so this makes it even more important that students do not take days off for less serious issues.

Congratulations to: Havana and Xhakora-Lee who were the winners of the school spelling bee. After making it through to the finals they then both went head to head and after multiple rounds with no mistakes were declared joint winners.

PB4L = Positive Behaviour for Learning

Recently we have noticed a high number of students swearing and speaking rudely to each other and even to staff. To address this we have made it clear this is not acceptable at school and told all students that if they swear or use verbal abuse towards others we will call home and let their family know what they have been saying. We explained that if they think it’s okay to say at school then they must think it’s okay to say to their parents. We would very appreciate your support in this so that school can remain a safe and pleasant space for all.

We focus on CARE values: Courage, Ambition, Respect and Endurance
