Now busy being mum to a teenage daughter and Principal here at Cannons Creek. I am passionate about creating a learning environment that reflects and celebrates our student’s and community.

About Me
Kia ora My name is Kirsty Holden and I am proud to be the DP and SENCO at Cannons Creek School. I was born in Dunedin but have lived in Wellington most of my life. I live in Tawa with my partner Ta'ape and son Logan. I came to Cannons Creek as a 21 year old beginning teacher and fell in love with this community. I consider myself extremely lucky to know so many generations of families in this area.

About Me
Kia ora, I am Rachel Kerse and I have been a teacher at Cannons Creek School since 2016, when I started as a beginning teacher. I teach our Year 5 and 6 students in Room 9, which means that I like to keep busy! I was born here in Porirua and have lived here for most of my life. I am lucky enough to live in Hongoeka Bay at my marae, by the sea surrounded by whānau.

About Me
Kia ora, Ko Hunia Williams taku ingoa. Ko Ngati Toa Rangatira te iwi, he haukainga ahau. I am a classroom teacher and PB4L lead teacher. This year I will be teaching Year 3 - 5 students in our beautiful new classrooms in Te Awaiti block. In my class, we believe that everyone has the right to learn in a safe environment where you can take risks and make mistakes. We value each other and our cultural knowledge that we bring.

About Me
Born in Taranaki and lived in Hawera for the first few years. I moved to Wellington when I was 2 and have been here for all my education. I graduated from Victoria University and moved to Auckland to teach before deciding to come back home to have a family. I have 2 children; a boy and a girl. You will often hear stories about their antics during class. Teaching since 2008 and am now loving it at Cannons Creek School.

Kia Orana, my name's Rozanna, known as “Roz”. I am a Cook Islander hailing from the islands of Mauke, Atiu, Mangaia and Aitutaki, I am a proud mum to 3 beautiful children. My two youngest attend this awesome school and my oldest is an ex-pupil. I have had the privilege of working here for the past 8 years. I love working with the children from the Creek, seeing their progress everyday. I am super proud to witness it.

About Me
I am Kerrin, the Office Administrator and have worked here for nearly 14 years. I love the children and the community of Cannons Creek and am passionate about building strong relationships with families so necessary support can be provided if needed. I have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Being a Grammy is my greatest joy and achievement and I travel away regularly to visit them. I live in Linden, love walking, crocheting, op shopping and socialising with friends and family.

Kia Orana! And Yes Rozanna ‘Roz’ is my daughter so a lot of my intro is in her intro. I was born and bred in Porirua. Attending our local schools. Some of my brothers attended Cannons Creek School before Maraeroa opened and became our local. I started working at the school approximately 17 years ago as a Teacher Aide and then an Assistant Librarian/Teacher Aide and now as an Assistant Librarian/Office Assistant.

About Me
Kia Ora. I'm Alison Kurukaanga- 'Garden Specialist' for our school Garden to Table programme. I completed a 'Certificate of Horticulture' in 2020. Cannons Creek was the first school to introduce the programme in the Wellington region (2014). It's been a great journey of discovery. School achievements include two of our students winning the "Young Gardener of the Year" for Aotearoa New Zealand! Our studies have looked at soil types, soil health-(microbe activity) compost,bees,pollination, photosynthesis. Soil is life!

I am Malaysian born of Chinese/Indian/Sri Lankan descent. I migrated to NZ in 1988. My life in Porirua evolves around my husband and two daughters, church, my work at CCS, and when time permits coffee with friends. I am passionate about helping children reach their learning potential through collaboration with teachers, families, and the childrens’ own enthusiasm for learning. I enjoy working with your children and am privileged to be part of their learning journey at CCS.
